How often should I change my oil in South Florida?
Go by your owner's manual, and read the severe service schedule, not the normal one. Heat, stop and go traffic and short trips all count as severe, and that describes most driving down here. The right interval depends on your engine and the oil it takes, so bring the manual or tell us the car and we will tell you.
Synthetic or conventional: which oil does my car need?
Whatever your manufacturer specifies. Most newer engines and nearly every European one call for synthetic, and the wrong oil can matter on those. We match the oil to the spec for your car, synthetic, blend or high mileage, not to whatever costs the most.
What else do you check during an oil change?
While it is in, we top off the fluids and check the tires, lights and wipers. If a tire is low or wearing on one edge, we will tell you, since that is the kind of thing that is cheap to catch early.
