What are the signs of worn shocks or struts?
The car keeps bouncing after a bump, the nose dives when you brake, it leans hard in turns, or the tires show a cupped, scalloped wear pattern. Leaking fluid on the shock body is another sign. We check them before we quote anything.
Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Usually, yes. Replacing struts, tie rods or control arms changes the angles the wheels sit at, and a car that is out of alignment wears its tires on one edge. We do alignments here on the rack, so it gets done on the same visit.
Is it safe to drive with a clunking noise?
It depends which part is making it. A worn sway bar link is mostly noise. A worn ball joint or tie rod end is different, because if one lets go you lose steering on that wheel. Do not guess: bring it in soon and we will tell you which it is and what can safely wait.
