Tire repair and flats
A nail in the tread is usually a repair, not a new tire.
- Price before anything is ordered
- Most tire work done while you wait

What is included
Bring it in and we will take the wheel off and look at it properly. A puncture in the tread can normally be plugged and patched from the inside and put straight back on. Damage in the sidewall cannot be repaired safely, and we will tell you that rather than sell you something that will not hold. Most flats are done while you wait.
- Take the wheel off and inspect the tire inside and out
- Fit a combination patch plug, not an outside plug
- Rebalance the wheel before it goes back on
- Replace the TPMS service kit while the tire is off
- Set all four pressures and reset the light
When to book

- The pressure light comes back after you fill it

What Broward says about us
Questions people ask
Is a plug as good as a patch?
On its own, no. A plug pushed in from the outside without taking the tire off is a roadside fix to get you somewhere, not a repair. We take the wheel off, look at the inside of the tire for damage you cannot see from the outside, and fit a combination patch plug that seals the hole and the inner liner together. That is the repair the tire industry considers permanent, and it is what we put back on your car.
Why can a sidewall puncture not be repaired?
The sidewall is the part of the tire that flexes every time the wheel turns, so no patch will stay sealed there and the cords around the hole are already damaged. The repairable area is the tread, and even there a cut wider than a quarter inch is too big. If we find damage in the sidewall or the shoulder we will show you and tell you straight that it needs a tire, rather than sell you a repair that will not hold.
How long does a flat repair take, and can I wait?
Most flats are done while you wait, and you are welcome to walk in. There is an air conditioned waiting room with a table if you would rather get some work done while we do ours. We are open 7:30 to 5 Monday through Friday and 7:30 to noon on Saturday. Call (954) 468-7920 if you are on a spare and we will tell you what the bay looks like before you drive over.
My tire keeps going down but there is no nail in it. What now?
Near the water it is usually the wheel, not the tire. Salt air corrodes the bead seat on an alloy wheel and the valve stem, and air seeps out slowly past both. We dismount the tire, clean the bead seat back to bare metal, fit a new valve or TPMS service kit and reseal it. If it is a slow leak you keep topping up every week, that is normally what we find.
